The GPM “Hydra” Super Cluster

  • PPS Processing Services
    • GPM Production (SDIS)
      • Produce GPM Initial Processing (IP) data products from ingested data using most recently validated algorithm code on daily on-going basis within 24 hours of receipt of all required input.[2]
      • Produce GPM Re-Processing (RP) data products from ingested data using designated algorithm code on demand.
      • Provide JAXA PMM with GPM GMI products within 48 hours of collection.[3]
    • GPM Integration and Testing Environment
      • Provide platform identical to GPM Production for the purposes of algorithm and processing software testing and code integration.
      • Allow for algorithm code to be run both via PPS software scheduling and via individual ad hoc methodologies.
    • GPM Development
      • Provide platform identical to GPM Production for the purposes of PPS processing software development and testing as well as for science analysts to develop, test, and run algorithm code via ad hoc means.
    • GPM Special Processing (ad hoc)
      • Provide platform for producing data products from non-standard algorithms outside control of PPS processing software components and standard configuration requirements.
    • TRMM Production
      • Produce TRMM IP data products from ingested data using most recently validated TRMM algorithm code (V7) on daily basis.
      • Produce TRMM RP data products from ingested data using designated TRMM algorithm code on demand.
      • Produce TRMM IP and RP data products using appropriate GPM algorithm code when approved by science team to replace TRMM algorithm code.
